What is a Project Manager, and what do they do?
A project manager is a person who oversees an entire project for an organization. They are in charge of planning, executing and making sure that the project comes to full completion. They manage the project’s resources and oversee the teams and workers involved. Project managers also are responsible for maintaining communication between the various teams, workers and clients throughout the lifespan of the project. This could mean anything from informing one team when another team finishes a component of a project to speaking with stakeholders about the current status of the project.
Where Can You Work?
Project managers can work across a variety of industries including construction, engineering, computer systems, architecture and a variety of business fields. Because of this wide variety of industries, a project manager’s work environment can be dependent on the field. Many project managers work remotely or in a traditional office environment. Others may work onsite for projects while still having an office location if needed.
